VIP’s Thermoforming Capabilities

A wide range of vacuum forming technical capabilities are available based on the equipment used, materials used, and desired product properties. Virginia Industrial Plastic uses modern equipment utilizing PLC’s to add a level of process control to ensure quality parts. Our machines include:

  • Brown 3 station rotary (2)
  • Brown Single Station
  • ZMD
  • PVI

All machines are capable of vacuum forming. The choice of the heavy gauge thermoforming technology in work done by VIP is always guided by the engineering and product specifications of the customer and part. Our machines have various capabilities and can accommodate sheet sizes of 72″ x 144″. We are willing to invest in additional equipment under the right circumstances to support your requirements.

VIP’s Trimming Capabilities

After parts are formed, they are sent to one of 4 current CNC trimming machines to reach final shape. VIP has two (2) 3 axis CNC machines, one (1) 5 axis and one (1) 6 axis. All programming is done in-house in conjunction with the part design to minimize time on the machine to keep costs down. The current trimming equipment set includes machines from KOMO, MultiCam, Quintax and Fanuc. Future equipment expenditures will be directed to provide more capacity, larger trim footprint and redundancy to reduce potential shipment interruptions.
